When Hillary Sander returned to her family’s business,\u00a0PMT – Mountain View, LLC<\/strong><\/a>, she started where few in her position would\u2013on the plant floor, hands-on as a technician.<\/p>

“I had no experience at all when I started,” <\/em>Sander recalls “I was watching YouTube videos just to see how motors are put together.”<\/em><\/p>

That willingness to dive in and learn fast paid off\u2013not just for her development, but for customer relationships too.<\/p>

“I showed up with curiosity and questions,”\u00a0<\/em>she said “And customers appreciated that I was learning with them and for them.”<\/em><\/p>

Hillary quickly became a familiar face in the field\u2013particularly memorable because she was often the only woman onsite.<\/p>

“People remembered me,”\u00a0<\/em>she explained. “Because it’s not common to see women in the field, I\u00a0<\/em>became the face of PMT. That gave me a sense of responsibility. I wanted to show that I could represent our company well\u2013not just as a woman\u2013but as a professional.”<\/em><\/p>

After several years of technical work, Hillary now applies her field experience to her corporate role in marketing and strategy. She still walks shop floors, but now it’s to help customers find solutions before issues even begin.<\/p>

“Having that firsthand experience changed how I speak with customers,”\u00a0<\/em>she said.\u00a0“It’s one thing to sell a monitoring solution.
